Dance/Electronic Songs
Dance/Electronic Songs is a music chart published weekly by Billboard magazine which ranks the top-selling electronic dance music singles in the United States through a combination of CD single sales, digital downloads, club play and radio airplay. The chart was introduced on January 17, 2013 on its website starting with the issue dated January 26, 2013. The launching of this chart was due to the sudden and growing interest in the Dance genre through various platforms. The methodology for the chart is similar to the one used for the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is used to determine its eligibility onto the latter.
The current number-one song on the Dance/Electronic Songs chart for the Billboard chart issue dated December 10, 2016, is "Closer" by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey.[1]
Criteria
There are fifty positions on this chart. Rankings are compiled by point-of-purchase sales obtained by Nielsen SoundScan data, radio airplay (monitored by Nielsen BDS), streaming data, reported club play from a select national panel of 140 club DJs, and from legal digital downloads from a variety of internet music stores. Outside of club play data, Dance/Electronic Songs match the methodology applied to the Billboard Hot 100. Titles eligible for the chart are determined based on a song's core sound and tempo. However, Dance remixes of titles categorized as pop, rock, R&B, rap or another genre are ineligible to chart on the Dance/Electronic Songs, even if the title appears on the Dance Club Songs or Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart.[2]

Milestones
- "Scream & Shout" by will.i.am featuring Britney Spears was the first number-one song on the Dance/Electronic Songs chart when it launched in January 2013.[11]
- "Wake Me Up" by Avicii holds the record for the longest number of weeks at number one on this chart, with 26.
- Calvin Harris holds the record for the most songs (3) simultaneously in the top 10 with "Blame", "Outside", and "Summer".[12]
- Skrillex holds the record for having the most charted singles, with 22.[13]
- "Runaway (U & I)" by Galantis holds the record for the longest weeks reaching the top ten on this chart (40 weeks).
- DJ Snake holds the milestone as the first artist to have a single positioned at No. 1 on the Year End chart two years straight with "Turn Down for What" featuring Lil Jon in 2014 and "Lean On" feat Major Lazer and MØ in 2015.
- The Chainsmokers holds the record for most number-one singles on the chart, with four as of September 3, 2016.
