Daniele Nadone

Daniele Nadone (June 24, 1979 – October 9, 2005) was an Italian post-modern painter and photographer who committed suicide at his home in 2005 in Trastevere, Rome at the age of 26.

Materials

Actual canvases were seldom used because of their cost, instead, he would use wood found on the streets of Rome for his paintings. As he came from a very poor family, his art was the family's main source of income. The Nadone's would sell his art at the Porta Portese market. Paintings that were not sold at the market were recycled to create new paintings that were to be sold the following Sunday. Of the paintings he has created, only about 150 are still in circulation. His mother owns a few not in circulation.
