Dean Klafurić (born 26 July 1972) is an assistant coach in Al-Nassr FC. He is a former manager/head coach of Croatia women's national football team.[1][2] In a playing career he played for many clubs in Croatia and Austria.
Klafuric started to work as a coach in NK Udarnik in 2005 but public gets more familiar with him when he accepted place of head coach of Women's national football team in 2009. Under his management, Women's national football team went up on a higher level. With enthusiasm all around the team, media covered more of its actions and matches. [3] He gathered players from all around the world and intensified competition. To prove all these statements, a legendary ex-Yugoslav player Ivanka Perić "Piksi" told once that: "Football was her life, and she was given the opportunity to live it. She played in a national team, clubs, on all positions, tasted the big tournaments. And wished them well too, especially when she heard about Dean's plans, she didn't hesitate but jumped on his train too." [4] He also surrounded himself with other experts who volunteered to act during his tenure. In 2012. he was relieved from the coaching position.
After that his methods were recognised by head of GNK Dinamo and in 2012 he started working with young teams in football school at GNK Dinamo Zagreb and had opportunity to spread his knowledge on 35. AEFCA-e congress in Zagreb which gathered many famous coaches.[5] He achieved many outstanding results which led him to A team assistant coach.
