Delmenhorst – Wesermarsch – Oldenburg-Land (electoral district)
Delmenhorst – Wesermarsch – Oldenburg-Land is one of the 299 single member constituencies used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. The district, which is located in Lower Saxony, was created for the 1949 election, the first election in West Germany after World War II. The constituency consists of the independent town of Delmenhorst and the counties of Oldenburg and Wesermarsch.[1]
The constituency was won by the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in the 1969 election. However, at the 2009 election, it was won by the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Since April 2010, the district representative has been Ewa Klamt. She replaced Astrid Grotelüschen, who had gained the seat in 2009 but resigned after being appointed as Agriculture Minister for the state of Lower Saxony.[2]
