Dhirkot is a town in Bagh District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is located 25 km from Kohala, 15 km from Chamankot, and 132 kilometres from Islamabad.[1]
Tourism
Dhirkot is a popular tourist resort due to its easy access. Bracing altitude 5,499 feet (1,676 m), mountainous landscape and densely clam forest make its very charming and attractive. The town is linked with all parts of Azad Kashmir by black top roads and direct transport services. A Forest rest house, three Tourist Huts and a Log Hut are located here for tourists stay.
Education
Dhirkot has its vast educational setup having a channel of governmental primary,secondary and High schools in each and every union council,as well as private sector is there to improve educational scenario of town.As for Higher secondary & Graduate education is concerned nine colleges (five of them are private), six high schools (four of which are private)are serving town to educate new generation.Female literacy ratio is also very much satisfactory.Town often shows an excellent ranking in Azad Kashmir and has a high literacy rate. Only girls' colleges have science faculties; boys are not supposed to have this facility and have to move to other cities in Azad kashmir and Pakistan.Efforts are being made to develop educational spectrum in a revolutionary fashion.Expanding professional rate in city is setting milestone in this respect.
Agriculture
Dhirkot is famous for fruits, especially apples and apricots.
