Diospyros maritima (Malaysian persimmon) is a tree in the Ebenaceae family. It grows up to 15 metres (50 ft) tall. Inflorescences bear up to 10 flowers. The fruits are round, up to 1.7 cm (1 in) in diameter. The specific epithet maritima is from the Latin meaning "by the sea", referring to tree's habitat. Habitat is coastal forests.[2] D. maritima is found from Malesia to northern Australia.[2][3]
