Diversity and Distributions is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal on conservation biogeography. It was established in 1993 as Biodiversity Letters. The journal covers the applications of biogeographical principles, theories, and analyses to problems concerning the conservation of biodiversity. The current editor-in-chief is Janet Franklin, who took over the role from David M. Richardson in December 2015. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2011 impact factor of 4.830, ranking it 2nd out of 37 journals in the category "Biodiversity Conservation"[1] and 20th out of 134 journals in the category "Ecology".[2]
