Administrative divisions of Jharkhand

Jharkhand state (India) is divided into five Administrative Divisions namely South Chhotanagpur, North Chhotanagpur, Kolhan, Palamu and Santhal Parganas.[1]

Background

Jharkhand state was created as 28th State of the Indian Union by the Bihar Re-organization Act on 15th November 2000. State was created due to its underdevelopment and social justice. Jharkhand has four neighborhood states e.g. Bihar on the North, Orissa on the South, Chhattisgarh on the west and West Bengal on the East.
