Dumbreck F.C. participated in Scottish Cup tournaments between 1873-74 and 1877-78, reaching the quarter-finals on one occasion.
Dumbreck F.C. finally dissolved in 1879.
During its relatively short time, Dumbreck provided Scotland with one of its early internationalists, Alex McGeoch, who represented Scotland on four occasions.
Dumbreck F.C. recently re-formed in 2014 in joining the GDSFC Sunday League by a local consortium. The Eagles competed in the GDSFC for just one season before being invited to join the Glasgow Community & Co-Operative League setup in the 2015-16 season. After a poor start to the season, Dumbreck finished on a mid table finish and winning the GCCL Cup which capped off an 11 game unbeaten run at the end of the season including beating such teams as Odd Woodlands & Harmony Row on the way to the final.
A goal from Marco Roper was enough to force penalties in the final against Clutha Trust FC in which Ross Banford stopped two penalties allowing co-founder Gavin Knox the honour of netting the winnng friendly.
Conner McIlkenny walked away with the top scorer award after 26 goals as well as Players' Player award. The Player of the Year award was won by Paddy Woods.
