Edward Kernan Campbell
Edward Kernan Campbell (April 17, 1858 - December 7, 1938)
Campbell attended Emory and Henry College from 1875 to 1876, and the University of Virginia from 1882 to 1883, reading law to gain admission to the Bar in 1883.
He was in private practice in Abingdon, Virginia from 1883 to 1884, and in Birmingham, Alabama from 1884 to 1913.
Federal Judicial Service: Nominated to the Court of Claims by President Woodrow Wilson, Campbell received his commission on May 22, 1913 and served as chief justice throughout his service, until his retirement from active service on April 17, 1928. He was a Special Master for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1931. His senior status on the Court of Claims ended with his death.
