Ellen Kort
Ellen Kort is an American poet, named the first Poet Laureate of Wisconsin in 2000 by Governor Tommy Thompson. She held the position until 2004.
Biography
She has written 11 books and 8 collections of poetry. As of 2011, Kort resided in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she was the Director of Writing Services for an advertising agency. Ellen died April 21, 2015 at age 79.
