Elsie Roxborough
Elsie Roxborough (died 1949) was an upper class Detroit socialite who briefly dated Langston Hughes.[1] She was the first African-American to live in the dormitories of the University of Michigan.[2] She later changed her name to Mona Manet, with the intent of passing as White.[1] After her father disowned her, she committed suicide.[1]
