Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Engelbert Heiner (5 June 1914 – 19 March 1945) was a German Luftwaffe night fighter ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career Engelbert Heiner was credited with 15 aerial victories, all of them at night. On 19 March 1945, he was killed over Gelnhausen.
