Eric Aldwin Bellinger, Jr. (born March 28, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and engineer.
Early life
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He is the grandson of Jackson 5 songwriter, Bobby Day. Being the captain of his high school football team, Eric was offered a scholarship to pursue a football career at the University of Southern California or to follow his passion in music.
Career
AKNU and Epic Records
Not long after turning down USC, Bellinger joined the R&B group AKNU (A Kind Never Understood) and was soon signed to Epic Records by two successful executives, Max Gousse and Tommy Mottola.
The Writing Camp and Awards
After experiencing success recording and touring with AKNU, Eric returned home to work on new music and discovered another passion, songwriting. The exceptionally gifted singer and rapper mastered his natural ability to instantly hear melody and rhythm under the guidance of childhood friend and mentor Erika Nuri of The Writing Camp.
Signing a publishing deal with Sony ATV, Eric soon became famous working with major R&B and pop artists such as Chris Brown ("Fine China"), Usher ("Lemme See" featuring Rick Ross), Selena Gomez ("Intuition"), Justin Bieber ("Right Here" featuring Drake) and many more. Also, he has won awards for "Lemme See" such as ASCAP, BMI and iTunes while achieving several Grammies for his contributions to Chris Brown's album, F.A.M.E..
Music
Eric later released his own mixtapes and albums. He released his Born II Sing projects online, in which Born II Sing Vol. 3 hit #3 on iTunes. He has also released his 2014 album, The Rebirth and his recent release, Cuffing Season Part 2 and Eventually EP. Eric's self-titled album is set to be released in 2016.
Personal life
Eric is married to singer and actress, La'Myia Good and they have a son.[1] La'Myia is the older sister of fellow actress, Meagan Good.
