Eric Loyd (born August 9, 1985 in Miami, Florida) is a U.S. soccer defender who currently plays for USL Premier Development League side Kalamazoo Outrage.
Career
High school and college
Loyd had an exceptional youth career. In 2000, his club team, the Miami Breakers Juniors, went to the semifinals of the national championship. He then moved to the Plantation Premier Eagles U-17 team which won the 2002 Florida State championship. Loyd also attended Plantation High School. He then attended the University of Central Florida where he played on the men's soccer team from 2002 to 2005 during which they won two league and conference championships.[1]
Professional
In 2006, Loyd signed with the Ajax Orlando Prospects of the Premier Development League. In 2007, he moved to the Cocoa Expos. In 2008, Loyd moved up to the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division.[2] In July 2008 Loyd joined high flying PDL side the Kalamazoo Outrage after being released from his professional contract by the Wilmington Hammerheads.
