Erik Read (born 1991) is a Canadian alpine ski racer.
He competed at the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek, USA, in the giant slalom[1] and slalom. In addition, Read was a member of the Canadian Team in the Nations Team Event (NTE) which surprised the ski racing world by winning a silver medal. This event is expected to be included on the Olympic program for the 2018 PeyongChang Olympic Winter Games.
In addition to his two top-30 results at the World Championship, Read also placed 24th in the FIS Alpine World Cup slalom in Aare, Sweden.
He is a two-time Canadian Champion in slalom (2013 and 2014) and won the overall title in the 2012 North American Cup (Nor-Am Cup) series.
Read is currently attending the University of Denver as an NCAA athlete in alpine skiing.
His parents are famous Canadian skiers Ken and Lynda Read.
