Erland Peter Brand, born 5 October 1922 in Arvika, is a Swedish painter,[1] draftsman and printmaker. He lives and works in Gothenburg. Brand educated at Valand Art School in Gothenburg, where he also worked as a teacher for three years. He has exhibited at a variety of institutions around Sweden, such as Galerie Blanche, Stockholm in 1958, Prince Eugene Waldemarsudde 1985/86, Gothenburg Art Museum 1995 Rackstadmuseet, Arvika 1999 at Moderna Museet, Stockholm 2000. He has until his death a guaranteed income of at least five base amount (about 214 000 SEK in 2009) per annum from Swedish state through the state income guarantee for artists.

Brand is the son of house painter Johan Brand (1883–1955) and Ester Matilda Brand born Pettersson (1895–1994). He is a second cousin of fellow artist Per Åhlin and a second cousin once removed of director Lars Jacob. He is married to Inga Brand born Brorson, also an artist with whom he has a son and a daughter.[2]
