Evan Loomis is a Texas entrepreneur, innovator, venture capitalist, and a startup mentor who is notable as the co-author of the book, Get Backed. He is a member of the Kauffman Fellows Program.[1][2][3]

Career

Loomis started his investment banking career on Wall Street and went on to become the COO of Wedgwood Circle. In 2010, he co-founded TreeHouse, a home improvement store focused on performance, health, and quality.[4][5] The company provides its customers eco-friendly home improvement options from its store and smart building techniques.[6] He is currently a Partner at Praxis Venture Labs,[7] the co-founder of Tradecraft, and a mentor at Techstars.[8][1][2] Loomis was a representative to the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a member of the board of The Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation, and Culture.[1][2] Evan also worked with the former President George H.W. Bush during his career.[1][2][9]

Evan Loomis along with Evan Baehr, the co-author of Get Backed,[5][10] received further coverage when they were interviewed by Harvard Business Review as experts in raising money via investors and creating pitch decks.[11][12][13] The article focused on how startup founders can be more effective at raising money by focusing on building relationships first.[11][12][13][14]
