Eytan and The Embassy

Eytan and The Embassy is an indie-pop/soul band from Brooklyn, New York. Founded in late 2009 by Eytan Oren, the band has toured with OK Go, Company of Thieves, and Those Darlins, and opened for The Hold Steady and Old 97s. The group starred in three commercials for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards and played the Isle of Wight Festival in England in 2010. Their song "The Good Life" also features vocals from Kai Kennedy and Jesse Laz-Hirsch of the band Locksley.

Personal life

Eytan Oren was born in Charlotte, NC and moved frequently during his childhood to cities like Boston, Chicago, and Washington D.C. before settling with his family in the suburbs of New York City. His father is an American journalist and documentary filmmaker and his mother is an Israeli landscape architect. Eytan attended Columbia University where he majored in music. He has since written music for commercials, television and movies in addition to playing in “Eytan and The Embassy”. He worked briefly at Google and CBGB until he saved up enough money to record his first album, "The Perfect Break-up."

Environmental Involvement

In October 2011, Eytan and Andy Ross, from the band OK Go, launched an iPhone app called “inBloom” ”’”’., which locates nearby environmentally friendly restaurants, farmers markets, hotels, and biodiesel stops.

Eytan also runs an environmental organization called “Musician's Energy Conservation Alliance (MECA)” http://www.joinmeca.org/ which includes members like OK Go, The Antlers, Kevin Devine, and DeVotchKa.

Awards and Achievements

On June 19, 2012 Eytan and The Embassy released the video for the single “Everything Changes”. ”’”’. The video includes an impressive 18 costume change lineup that showcases different musicians throughout history like John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Lady Gaga and deadmau5 to name a few. The video was featured on www.recordsetter.com http://recordsetter.com/world-record/costume-changes-one-take-music-video/16170 for including the most costume changes in a one take, unedited video! In a month, the video gained over 500,000 views on YouTube and is getting attention from fans and celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris -
