Fangjin Yang is a computer scientist and entrepreneur specializing in distributed systems and big data. He is a co-founder and CEO of Imply.
Yang received his MASc and BASc from the University of Waterloo, advised by Gordon Agnew. His graduate school was sponsored by Cisco Systems,[1] and he joined Cisco after graduation. A few years after joining Cisco, Yang left to join Metamarkets, a San Francisco-based technology startup. At Metamarkets, he worked on creating and developing Druid,[2] and building the community around the project.[3]
In late 2015, he started Imply, a company that commercializes Druid.[4] He is currently the CEO at Imply.
