Farhana Shabnam Nisho popularly known as ( Farhana Nisho Bengali: ফারহানা নিশো; born 14 February) is a popular news personality, actress and model from Bangladesh. She was born in Tangail, Bangladesh and grew up with the dream of being a news presenter and off-course an Engineer. Her father was a regular news listener. He wanted her to build her career as a news presenter from that time. At that time, there was a famous news presenter named Farhana Rahman. So, her father named her as Farhana Shabnam Nisho.
Early life and education
From her childhood, she tried to prove herself as a talented person. She had practiced singing, pencil art, dancing and acting in her childhood and won many prizes also. In 1990, when she was in class 4, she won the title of Best Child Artist in "SAARC girl child year competition". She has won many prizes from Shishu Academy She used to participate in a regular program in BTV named Kisholoy from 1986 as a child artist. After that in 1990, her family moved to Dhaka. She got admitted in class 5 in Motijheel Ideal School & College, Dhaka. She continued her cultural practice along with the studies. Then she appeared SSC exam and she got Starmarks with 6 letter marks (862 out of 1000). Then she got star marks again in HSC exam with same result. Then she got admission in Sylhet Medical College. but She didn't like to be a doctor. so she went to BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) and completed my graduation in URP (Urban and Regional Planning) in 2005 and got First Class. then she has had her MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from North South University(NSU) Bangladesh successfully 2009.
Early modeling career
She started her early modeling career while she was in BUET. In early 2000, she started with Close-Up (toothpaste) TV commercial. Later on she did for Sunsilk, Samsung, Surf Excel, Dutch Bangla Bank, Eastern Bank, Orchi Drinks, Naturak Soyabn oil, etc. Among these Tibet Petroleum Jelly and MilkMan Milk Powder were very popular.
News presenting career
Farhana Nisho gained her popularity when she started presenting news. In 2003, she started presenting news for the first time in NTV. After that she joined Channel 1 in 2005. And Channel 1 First day First NEWS was presented by her. Later on she joined at Boishakhi TV as a News Presenter and then she became program head there.
Corporate career
After graduation she joined with Grameen Phone in 2005 in Implementation, Technical Division. According to her it was really a great experience of working in a corporate culture. Then she joined WARID Telecom in PMO (Project Management Office) in 2006. and that was also a great experience with a great team. And finally she has joined Boishakhi Television as Head of Corporate Affairs and Senior Presenter. Now her work field is more like to work as a team member of Channel Management. Besides this she has an agency named COLOR Corporation. It's mainly production based. She started her online news web-portal named DhakaToday .
Other activities
Currently she is hosting a musical show Shomoy Katuk Gaane regularly on Boishakhi TV. She also hosts few other shows on a regular basis. She also acted in few TV dramas. Most famous was Ei Borshay written and directed by Humayun Ahmed. Co-artist were Riaz and Shawn. It was on-aired in NTV in 2003. But she preferred presenting news more than anything else.
