Ferris Independent School District
Ferris Independent School District is a public school district based in Ferris, Texas (USA).
In addition to Ferris, the district serves the community of Trumbull and rural areas in northeastern Ellis County. A small portion of southeastern Dallas County also lies within the district.
In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]
In the early 90's, Ferris ISD administrators would give students "swats" if they did not stay silent and keep their eyes fixed on the television during the lunch period while the Channel One News Program aired.
