Flash Gordon was a video game based on a comic book character of the same name. The game was published in 1986 by Mastertronic for the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and MSX personal computers.[1]

Reception

Zzap!64 praised the Commodore 64 version of the game. Reviewers appreciated the gameplay variety offered by the three different sections of the game, and the quality of graphics and sound. It was rated 89% overall.[2]

Other games

There was also a 1982 game tie in for the 1980 film. It was released for the Atari 2600.[3][4] On Oct. 7, 2015 a mobile game, also based on the film was released. This was an infinite runner type game developed by Boluga Limited. It featured three songs by Queen, “Flash’s Theme”, “Vultan’s Theme” and “Football Fight”.[5]

Flash Gordon was also in the 1990 Defenders of the Earth video game by Enigma Variations.[6]
