FlockU.com is a publisher and marketing company that connects college students with brands online and on-campus. The exchange contains news, opinions and information on college life.[1] All content is created by students. Brand partners can reach students through content marketing on the site or through events.
History
FlockU was launched in April 2015 by Josh Verne[2] and Jon Dorfman,[3] on a capital investment from their prior exit, a financial wellness company called workpays.me.[4][5] The company is located in a 5000 sq ft. building in King of Prussia, PA. It has 16 employees and about 100 student contributors.[6]
Since its launch, FlockU has partnered with several large-scale brands, including SoFi, Bed Bath & Beyond,[7] and Clarion. The company has also been named a top influencer for the millennial demographic on Instagram and Snapchat by Bloomberg,[8] been featured in Forbes,[1] and makes regular appearances on Cheddar TV and Cheddar Life, a fellow startup from former Buzzfeed President Jon Steinberg.[9]
The board consists of David J. Adelman, Steve Bornstein, Larry Moneta, Todd Sandler, Eric Siegel, and Scott Thompson.[10]
Content
The site specializes in personalized content, e-Commerce and marketing partnerships. A video published was called 20 things you should know about college. In February 2016 they ran the FlockU's Biggest Group Date Ever, which raised more than $30,000 for pediatric cancer, at The Ainsworth in NYC.[11]
