Fort Kinnaird is a large outdoor retail park located off the A1 in the south-east of Edinburgh, Scotland. It opened in 1989 and it is currently the second largest retail park in the UK with 75 units occupied.
Further development
Work began in late 2013 on a £24m extension to the park which included a seven-screen cinema, 7 restaurants, and a children’s play area.[1]
Stores
The retail park has developed a strong line of fashion stores, with many high street brands such as Marks and Spencer, River Island, Primark, Next, Fatface, H&M, New Look and OUTFIT Fashion, which compromises of Topshop, Topman, Burton Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Quiz Clothing.
Stores range from large to smaller units. Other stores include Boots, Toys R Us, WH Smith, Waterstones, Mothercare, Smyths Toys, HomeSense, T.K. Maxx and Argos
The retail park boasts 18 food outlets, including McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Express, Ed's Easy Diner, Chiquito, Subway (restaurant), Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Frankie & Benny's, and Nando's.
The £24m expansion saw the arrival of a brand-new Odeon cinema complex, which opened in March 2015.
On October 1st 2016, Oak Furniture Land opened a new store at the complex.
On 12th October 2016, the Ed's Easy Diner restaurant closed, less than 2 years after opening, after the company collapsed into administration.
