Frank Ward Culver was an All-American football player for the University of Michigan. A native of Detroit, Culver played for the Michigan Wolverines under Fielding H. Yost in 1917 and 1919. As a sophomore in 1917, he started three games at left tackle, four games at left guard, and one game at right guard, and was selected as an All-American.[2][3] After the 1917 season, Culver entered the military service, and he missed the 1918 season due to World War I. After the war, Culver returned to Michigan. In 1919, he started one game at guard and three games at center.[4]

Culver graduated from the University of Michigan Law School and practiced as an attorney and chief assistant prosecutor in Detroit for many years.[1] Culver died in the courtroom in 1956.[1]
