Fritziana goeldii, also known as Goeldi's frog or Colonia Alpina treefrog, is a species of frog in the Hemiphractidae family. It is endemic to southeastern Brazil and found in Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, and São Paulo states.[2] The species is named after Émil Goeldi, Swiss zoologist who worked in Brazil.[3]
Natural habitats of Fritziana goeldii are forests from sea level to 1,000 m (3,300 ft) asl. They are found sitting on vegetation few metres above the ground, mostly in bromeliads. Tadpoles are released into bromeliads.[1]
Fritziana goeldii is locally threatened by habitat loss.[1]
