Dassault Systèmes GEOVIA is a set of geologic modeling and mining engineering software applications developed by the French engineering software company Dassault Systèmes. Formerly known as Gemcom, the company was founded in 1985 as a spin-off from by mining consultants SRK Consulting, with headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[1]

- 1982, Surpac launched
- 1985, Gemcom Software founded, spun off from SRK Consulting
- 1997, Gemcom IPO on TSX
- 2002, Gemcom purchased Whittle Programming
- 2002, Surpac purchased ECSI, created Surpac Minex Group
- 2006, Gemcom purchased Surpac Minex Group
- 2008, Gemcom taken private
- 2012, Dassault Systèmes purchased Gemcom, GEOVIA brand is launched targeting Natural Resources
- 2015, Dr. Tony Diering, VP Block Caving Unit, is inducted into the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame [2]
