Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) is a department of Georgia Tech that deals with information security issues such as cryptography, network security, trusted computing, software reliability, privacy, and internet governance.[1]

History

It was established in April 1998 after the Sam Nunn Information Security Forum, due to Georgia Tech's strengths in technology and policy, and a need for improved security research and education.[2]

GTISC's current director is Wenke Lee.[3] Mustaque Ahamad, Blaine Burnham, Richard DeMillo, and Ralph Merkle have previously served as the department's directors.[4][5][6][7]

Faculty

GTISC has several dozen associated faculty members and many students from Colleges and Schools across the Georgia Tech campus.[8][9] Researchers come from the Georgia Tech Research Institute as well as Georgia Tech's College of Computing, College of Liberal Arts, and School of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering.[8][9]
