Garfield is a game based on the comic strip of the same name. The game was released on the PlayStation 2 and PC. Both versions were made by Renderware, Hip Interactive and The Code Monkeys. it was the first 3D Garfield game.

Story

Jon goes out of the house and leaves Garfield to his own devices, but Garfield must keep out of trouble and leave the house tidy so he can receive a big serving of lasagna as a reward. Garfield, expectantly, falls asleep, and when he wakes up, the entire house is a mess thanks to Odie. Garfield now must explore the house and put everything back to normal before Jon gets home.

Gameplay

The player (playing as Garfield) must clean the house and put everything in the right place before Jon gets home. Garfield uses the vacuum to suck things in and put them in the right place by blowing them out. The game lasts for about 8 hours and if the player have not cleaned the house in time, Garfield will be put on a diet before it is announced that you have lost.

There are many rooms in the game. Player must clean these rooms to collect keys to open these rooms. Almost everything in each room is interactable.

The player can only hold three items and then must go to storage boxes to store items. Player can also save the game at these storage boxes. There are also various mini games that the player can play, including classic console games.

Reception

The Garfield game received average to poor ratings. PS2 UK magazine gave it a 2/10 and JeuxVideo PC gave it a 4/20. Major reasons include unattractive graphics, slightly sluggish controls, and Odie only flipping around when kicked.
