Gary Perez
Gary Perez is an American actor of Puerto Rican descent.[1] Perez was born and raised in Harlem, and attended the High School of Performing Arts to study ballet. He then became an actor at age 25.[2] Perez is a past member of the Circle Repertory Company[3] and in 1992 he co-founded the LAByrinth Theater Company.[4] Between 2000 and 2001, Perez played the character of Agent Marquez on The Sopranos,[5] and the character of Luis Ruiz on Oz.[6] He has also played recurring characters on daytime dramas including As the World Turns and All My Children.[7] In 2010 Perez’ film Apples was an official selection and nominated for the Audience Award at the New York City Short Film Festival.[8] In 2013 Perez played the role of Julio in a staged production of The Motherfucker with the Hat, playing opposite Jimmy Smits.[2][9] He was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for his performance.[10][11]
