Geoff Edge

Geoffrey Edge (born 26 May 1943) was a British Labour Party politician.
Geoffrey Edge was born in West Bromwich and educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Birmingham. He then became a university Lecturer.
Edge was Member of Parliament for Aldridge-Brownhills from 1974 until 1979 when he lost the seat to the Conservative Richard Shepherd.
After losing his seat, Edge served on West Midlands County Council, where he created an economic development department, and West Midlands Enterprise, which provided long term finance to local companies. He subsequently served as a Labour Councillor and Leader of Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council.
