Geriatric Day Hospital
The Geriatric Day Hospital, commonly referred to as Day Hospital, is an outpatient or ambulatory care program in the City of Winnipeg under the Rehabilitation & Geriatrics umbrella of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.[1]
The four Day Hospitals in Winnipeg are operated by:
Health Services for the Elderly[2] operates in the downtown area in a similar capacity.
The Day Hospital provides multidisciplinary care to individuals aged 65 and older. Discipline involvement and availability varies from site to site, but includes:
- Dietitian
- Geriatrician
- Geriatric Psychiatrist
- Nurse
- Occupational Therapist
- Physical Therapist
- Pharmacist
- Recreational Facilitator
- Social Work
- Spiritual Care
