Gert Burgmann (21 January 1922 – 26 October 1944) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Gert Burgmann was killed on 26 October 1944 near Goldap, Poland and was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross on 18 December 1944.
