Ghulam Ali Kamboh
Ghulam Ali Chaudhry (Kamboh) (1923–2007) was a Pakistani intellectual. After completing M. A in English Literature from University of Punjab, Lahore in 1945, Dr. Ghulam Ali started his career as a lecturer first in Islamia College Lahore, then he joined Dayal Singh College, Lahore, which was followed by M.A.O College, Lahore. Dr Ghulam Ali completed his Ph.D in English Literature from University of Edinburgh Scotland, in 1962. Then he was appointed as Professor of English Literature, later becoming the Head of the Department of English, at University of Punjab, Lahore. Dr Ghulam Ali also worked as Professor of English Literature at Um-ul-Qurrah University, Mecca, Saudi Arabia for over a decade.
He was the author of the well known book "Dickens and Hawthorne", which was published by the Essex Institute, in 1964. Ghulam Ali had also participated in Pakistan Movement and was a student organizer for Muslim League.
