Gifted is an upcoming 2017 American drama film directed by Marc Webb and stars Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Octavia Spencer and Jenny Slate. The film is scheduled to be released on April 12, 2017, by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
Premise
Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a young man raising a child prodigy - his late sister's spirited young daughter Mary (Mckenna Grace) in a coastal town in Florida. Frank's plans of a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old's mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank's formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Mary's concerned teacher, Jenny Slate, develops a relationship with Frank when helping him with this battle.[1]

Filming began in October 2015 in Savannah, Georgia, as well as in Tybee Island, Georgia.[6]
