Gil Cabral (1300s-1362) was a Portuguese nobleman, bishop of Guarda, Portugal.[1]
Biography
His father was João Martins Cabral.[2] The name of his wife is unknown, Cabral had two sons Maria Gil Cabral and Álvaro Gil Cabral.[3]
Gil Cabral is the direct ancestor of Pedro Álvares Cabral.[4] According to ancient sources, the Cabral family were descendants of Carano founder of The Macedonian Empire.[5]
