Gilberto Manuel Pereira da Silva (born 26 March 1987), simply known as Gilberto Silva is a Portuguese professional footballer playing for Sporting Covilhã as a midfielder.
Club career
Born in Guimarães, Silva is a graduate of Boavista youth academy. Failing to get first team opportunities, he had a stint with third tier club Penalva do Castelo before joining his former club's first team in 2007. After two successive seasons, he entered Cypriot football with Ermis Aradippou. Failing to get success abroad, he returned to Portugal with Oliveira de Frades. Sporting Covilhã reinforced him in 2012.[1]
