Gindari: Bahubuthayo 2 (Sinhala: ගින්දරී - බහුබූතයෝ 2) is a 2015 Sinhala comedy mystery film. The film served as a sequel to the 2001 film Bahubuthayo, which was written and directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya, and produced by EAP Circuit Cinemas, and scored by Ananda Perera.

The film was released in April 2015, it was commercially successful in Sri Lanka, however, its story was perceived as a failure.[2] Scenes in the film were shot in towns such as Anuradhapura and around Colombo.

Plot

A few years after the incidents at Bahubuthayo 1, Lanti (Mahendra Perera) and Banti (Rodney Warnakula) engaged in their usual jobs as journalists. The story begins when lightning breaks the bell at the temple, allowing Tikiri (Paboda Sandeepani), an evil spirit, to come back in to Lanti and Bunti's home. Bunti sees Tikiri and is frightened. Both Lanti and Banti begin to question how she came back. Meanwhile, their counterpart friend Chaminda (Richard Manamudali) returns home and sees the girl. After series of comedies, Chaminda leaves the home, and, in the meantime, Lanti and Bunti reveal that Tikiri is also capable of releasing fire.[3]

With all these incidents, Bunty's parents came home and asked Bunty to marry a girl soon. Bunty accepted it and Lanti always thought of a ways to get rid of Tikiri. Meanwhile, following a misleading news item relating to a minister which has been published, the minister (Sriyantha Mendis) comes to the house where Bunty and Lanty live and beats them. While, minister sees beautiful Tikiri is taken by force to work in his ministry office. Lanti and Bunty allowed him to keep her, but little does he know that they were seeking vengeance. Bunty gets married to a girl named Malkanthi (Lochana Imashi) after Tikiri left the house. Bunti noticed that his wife was; very lazy, expensive, addicted to television and not compatible at all. They quarreled very often until Malkanthi left the house.

After Tikiri entered new world within ministry, minister always tried to win her heart but she just didn't like him. He gave a new modern name to Tikiri as Tikri. The community started making slanderous jokes about their relationship. The Minister wanted to be pleased by Tikri but when he tried to touch her, she punched him and fled the scene.

One day, Lanti and Bunti see that Tikiri has come back again and now she has learnt to speak English as well. Bunti somewhat gets romanced with Tikiri with all these incidents and said Lanti, that she will live in this house by serving us. Evil spirit is far more better than a usual women in thousands of way. But, Lanti rejects it and he also left the house. Only Bunti and Tikiri is at the house. Finally they married and have a child as well. Every one, except Lanti came to his child's birthday party. At the end, Lanti, who also married and with his pregnant wife walks.
