Gottlob Friedrich Steinkopf

Gottlob Friedrich Steinkopf (1 March 1779, in Stuttgart 20 May 1861, in Stuttgart) was a German landscape painter.

From 1799 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He later lived and painted in Rome (1807–14) and Vienna (1814–20). In 1821 he returned to his hometown of Stuttgart, where he stayed for the remainder of his life. In 1829 he became a teacher of landscape painting at the Art Academy in Stuttgart, where in 1833 he attained the title of professor.[1][2]
