Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur (Marathi:शासकीय अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालय,चंद्रपुर) was established in 1996 and is the only government institute under Gondwana University.[1]
Accreditation
The college is approved by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is affiliated to Gondwana University.
Location
College situated beside APJ Abdul Kalam Botanical Garden near Ballarpur Bye-Pass in front of Prasanna Petrol Pump. Bus stand - 2 Km. Railway Station 1. Chandrapur - 2 Km. 2. Ballarshah - 13 Km.
Campus
The college is situated in Babupeth on MH State Highway 264 (Nagpur-Ballarpur) . The campus has a huge area of 63 Acres.
Admissions
The admissions to the college are governed by the DTE. The State CET Cell holds the all Maharashtra State level MHT-CET (Maharashtra Technical - Common Entrance Test), which is a compulsory examination to admission in engineering. From 2014, admissions are on the basis on score of JEE-Main. Again from 2016, admissions start on basis of State CET.

- Electrical Power Engineering (Started in 1996)
- Mechanical Engineering (Started in 1996)
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering(Started in 2010)
- Computer Science Engineering (Started in 2007)
T&P Cell
Prof. B.B.Sul of Instrumentation Engg. Department is the incumbent T&P officer of the college. Several MNC's visit college every year for recruitment. Around 50+ students were placed in academic year 2014-15.
Cultural and Non Academic Activities
The students are encouraged for sports, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities.
Abhi-Rang
Abhi-Rang is Cultural Event of the college which is held in the month of January every year.
Vis-a-Vis (Formerly 'Pursuit')
Vis-a-Vis is an annual national level technical festival (event) organized by GCOEC in the month of March every year.
