Griesheim is a city district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk West.
Griesheim had been an independent town until 1928, the year of its suburbanisation. It is located between Nied, Sossenheim, Bockenheim, Gallusviertel and Schwanheim.
Overview
Although it is located close to downtown Frankfurt (5–10 minutes by train), Griesheim also has an atmosphere of a smaller village. Not far from the centre, which is located in southern Griesheim, are the banks of the River Main, which is very popular with cyclists, joggers and pedestrians.
