Gropparello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Piacenza. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,379 and an area of 56.3 square kilometres (21.7 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Gropparello contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Castellana, Groppovisdomo, Gusano, La Valle, Montechino, Obolo, Sariano, and Veggiola.
The territory of the municipality lies between 175 and 1,099 metres (574 and 3,606 ft) above sea level. The altimetric span is thus 924 metres (3,031 ft).
