HIV Prevention Trials Network
The HIV Prevention Trials Network (known as HPTN) is an international organization that develops and tests the safety and efficacy of primarily non-vaccine interventions designed to prevent the transmission of HIV.

HPTN 052 is the name of a clinical trial conducted by the HPTN. This study found a relationship between HIV prevention and AIDS treatment. Science named this study as the 2011 "breakthrough of the year".[1]
