Heinkenszand is a town in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Borsele, and lies about 14 km east of Middelburg.
Heinkenszand was a separate municipality until 1970.[1]
In 2001, the town of Heinkenszand had 4164 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.1 km², and contained 1660 residences.[2] The statistical area "Heinkenszand", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 5090.[3]
Tourism
Heinkenszand has steadily been increasing its importance as a tourism destination with holiday park "Stelleplas" and a traditional wooden shoe factory and museum.[4]
