Helsdingenia is a genus of sheet weaver spiders in the family Linyphiidae, containing four accepted species.[1]
Etymology
The generic name was coming from a leading herpetologist Dr. P. J van Helsdingen, who did remarkable taxonomic studies on Linyphiidae family.[2]
Description
They are usually small sized pale colored spiders with maximum length of 2.45 mm. Dorsally, there are four pairs of dark spots in a pattern in the abdomen. These spots are connected to each other to form two parallel stripes. Male is smaller than the female, where female is easily distinguishable by finger like extensions in epigyne.[2]
