Here Today and Gone Tomorrow

"Here Today and Gone Tomorrow" is a song written by Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, Joe Harris, Marshall "Rock" Jones, Ralph "Pee Wee" Middlebrooks, Dutch Robinson, Clarence "Satch" Satchell, and Gary Webster of the Ohio Players' for their 1969 album Observations in Time.

David Bowie performed this track live on his Diamond Dogs tour in 1974 (as "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow"). The version recorded on this tour was released as a bonus track on the 1990 Rykodisc reissue of the live album David Live. The 2005 Virgin Records/EMI reissue of the album put the song back into the correct position in the set-list in track listing order.

The title of this song have achieved a great deal of fame that the media has often mentioned it in a number of ways.

• In the 1971 film Harold and Maude, Maude (Ruth Gordon) says her life motto is "Here today, gone tomorrow, so don't get attached to things".
• When Eustace of the show Courage the Cowardly Dog reads a newspaper ad on how to grow back hair, it says "Gone Today, Hair Tomorrow."
• An episode of Tiny Toons where Buster Bunny gets kidnapped by Elmyra is entitled "Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow."
• When Roll in the Mega Man series used a vacuum to sucked up the wig from a notorious rich lady, she quoted "Hair today, gone tomorrow."
• The sixth part of King's Quest adventure game series was named "King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow".
