Highbury is a suburb of Palmerston North, New Zealand. The suburb is located northwest of Palmerston North Central (CBD). The area has the characteristics of a suburban area and had a resident population of 3,240 (2001).
Highbury's street name themes range from British placenames (Brighton, Somerset, Lancaster, Coventry, Brentwood) to those of settlers of Palmerston North (Monrad).
There are many parks and reserves here which could almost suggest there are a lot of younger people here.
Three schools service the area and they are Somerset Crescent, Takaro, and Monrad Intermediate Schools. The main campus in Palmerston North of Te Wananga o Aotearoa is located here also.
The Cloverlea Tavern on the corner of Gillespies Line and Tremaine Avenue is the local pub and the 'Highbury Shops' located on the corner of Highbury Avenue and Pembroke Street provide convenience for residents.
The Monrad Rest Home is located in Highbury.
Many people confuse Westbrook as being a part of Highbury, however Westbrook is a separate suburb.

Gang-related Crime
- The suburb of Highbury has had the most gang-related, violent crime incidents (including shootings, serious assaults and stabbings) nationwide in the past decade. Members of the Highbury community have attempted to alleviate the negative aspects and perceptions of the suburb, but it's violent past has made it known to other residents of Palmerston North as the most dangerous part of the city.
- The main event which led to a series of violent offences occurred on Waitangi Day, 2002. A Black-Power "prospect", aged 16 was fatally shot by a member of the Mongrel Mob gang. There have been numerous serious assaults since this incident, some of which have reached national newspapers and television broadcasts.
