Hiram Lee "Doc" Jones (born November 7, 1937) was a brigadier general and Deputy Chief of Chaplains of the United States Air Force.

Career

Jones was born in Madisonville, Texas[1] and joined the United States Air Force in 1969.[2] He was then assigned to Kincheloe Air Force Base and Andrews Air Force Base.

After serving in West Germany, Jones became Senior Protestant Chaplain at Bergstrom Air Force Base in 1979. From 1982 to 1985, he served as a chaplain and a member of the faculty at the Air Command and Staff College. Afterwards, he was assigned to Pacific Air Forces.

From 1991 to 1993, Jones was Senior Chaplain at Bolling Air Force Base. In 1993, he became Command Chaplain of the United States Air Forces in Europe. Afterwards, he served as Command Chaplain of Air Combat Command. Jones became Deputy Chief of Chaplains in 1997. He remained in the position until his retirement in 1999.

Awards he received during his career include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.[3]
