The Hundred of Munno Para is a cadastral unit of hundred covering the outer northern suburbs of Adelaide north of the Little Para River and the flanking semi-rural areas in South Australia.[1] It is one of the eleven hundreds of the County of Adelaide.[2] It was named in 1846 by Governor Frederick Robe, Munno Para being a term from a local Kaurna Aboriginal people meaning golden wattle creek.[3] This name refers to either the Gawler River (which starts at the confluence of the South Para River and North Para River) or the Little Para River.
The following local government areas of South Australia are situated inside (or largely inside) the bounds of the Hundred of Munno Para:
- City of Playford (excluding the portions west of Port Wakefield Road and at the far eastern edge well outside the Adelaide metropolitan area)
- City of Salisbury (only the portion north of the Little Para River and east of Port Wakefield Road)
- Town of Gawler (only the portion south of the main township of Gawler and the Gawler River)
